Ellesmere Island Snowpeople starter Dave Shepard kept the Capital Hill Interns hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Ellesmere Island, now 7-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Curf Pierstisnips had the most critical at-bat for Ellesmere Island. With one in the top of the ninth inning, Pierstisnips hit a 1-2 cutter from Yushua Wazir for a run-scoring single. It put Ellesmere Island in front, 3-2.

"Enjoyed this one," Pierstisnips told the Ellesmere Island Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
