The Valley Blue Sox topped the Delaware 1787 BC, 4-2, in USPL Single A action at The Heron Refuge. The player of the game was Valley left fielder Jon Huband. Tony Rocha picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Einar Engberg was tagged with the loss. Tom Holloway earned the save for Valley, his 13th.
Huband had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Einar Engberg, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Blue Sox a 3-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Huband.
Delaware manager Pedro Campos said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
This win makes it 8 in a row for Valley.
