Walleye Score Late to Upend Blaze, 8-4
|
South Beach left fielder Mark Patterson pounded Walla Walla Walleye pitchers at Walleye Tank, but it was not enough to keep the Blaze from falling, 8-4. Patterson went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. The Walleye saw their win-loss record go to 37-56. At the same time, the Blaze fell to 55-38.
Manny Moons was the walk-off hero for Walla Walla. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Walleye designated hitter hit a dramatic grand slam home run to send the teams home.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Moons.
