The South Beach Blaze eked out a 2-1 win versus the Mancelona Torch at The Ballpark on the Beach. Nobody did more than pitcher Elton Coalan, who captured player of the game honors. Coalan picked up the win for South Beach, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 9-3. South Beach has now won 4 in a row.
Asbel Kiprop was 1-3 for South Beach. The 20-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Enrique Cruz. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"We did just enough to win," Coalan said.
