Blue Sox Get Close Win Over 1787 BC

A 4-RBI performance from Rob Brooks, who is tied for 6th in the PA in total bases with 120, helped the Valley Blue Sox beat the Delaware 1787 BC, 8-4. Valley reliever Markus Martin was the winner. His record is now 7-2. César Pérez took the loss. The save went to Tom Holloway, his 9th this season.
Brooks had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-0 cutter from César Pérez, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Blue Sox a 7-4 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Brooks.
"We came out aggressive," said Blue Sox manager Willis Crawford. "We came out swinging the bats."
The Blue Sox improved to a lofty 61-14.
