Torch Get Close Win Over Walleye
The Walla Walla Walleye got a superb performance from pitcher Terry Edmonds. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Mancelona. The Torch won the game, 7-5. In spite of the loss, Edmonds was named the player of the game. He came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters . The winner was Mancelona reliever Melvin Conner, now 4-1. The loser was Ye-qing Tsai. Marty McFly picked up the save, his 6th.

Mancelona catcher Arend van der Veen changed the complexion of the game in the top of the eighth inning. That's when he belted a 3-run home run off Ángel Herrera. His 8th home run of the season put Mancelona in front, 5-4.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said van der Veen.

Mancelona has now won 4 straight.
