The Valley Blue Sox defeated the Mancelona Torch, 5-4. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Rob Brooks, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times. The Blue Sox improved to a lofty 44-13.
Brooks had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 curveball from Raúl Hinojosa, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Blue Sox a 5-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Brooks.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Brooks said after the game.
