Blaze Come Back Late, Nip Guzzlers

South Beach and Galesburg duked it out at Galesburg Field and the Blaze came out victorious.
The Blaze had to overcome a fine performance from Galesburg pitcher Ángel Martínez to grab a 4-3 win at Galesburg Field. Martínez allowed no earned runs over 5.2 innings. Chris Crum got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings.
Ricardo Varela drove in one run for South Beach. The 22-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off José Rodríguez. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Varela said.
South Beach has 3 straight wins, Galesburg 3 straight losses.
