Rainbow Mermaids Lose to Athletic Club KC, 5-3
|
It was a good time at Athletics Park, where fans came to watch the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Athletic Club KC get after it.
Athletic Club KC center fielder Wu-shun Chu was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. Chu, who is rated as the 14th best prospect by BNN, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Athletic Club KC. Raúl Luna, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 2-2.
In the bottom of the third, Shun Komatsu hit a run-scoring single for Athletic Club KC. The 15th hit of the season for the Athletic Club KC designated hitter put the Athletic Club KC on top, 1-0.
Komatsu called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The Rainbow Mermaids fall to 6-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2035 season.
