Manny Diéguez made an impact in the 5-4 Galesburg win over South Beach. Diéguez went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. David Bishop, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Gilberto Chávez.

Galesburg used the timely hitting of Klaas Westerduin to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Guzzlers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Diéguez told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."

The win gives Galesburg a record of 4-6.
