Behind a solid performance from catcher Walter Butler, the Valley Blue Sox defeated the Washington Generals, 7-1. Butler was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Sox. Risto Latva earned the save for Valley, his 1st of the year. At 4-1, the Blue Sox have played well so far.
Valley shortstop Luis Aranda contributed to the cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the second. For the game, Aranda was 2-5 with a double, while adding 4 RBI.
