Blaze Come Up Short at Mancelona

Both teams had their chances, but the Mancelona Torch eventually prevailed at Torch Field.
The Mancelona Torch picked up a win at Torch Field, knocking off the South Beach Blaze, 2-1. Starting pitcher Billy Craig played a key role in the triumph. Earning his 1st save for Mancelona was Marty McFly.
Wen Chua contributed to the Mancelona win with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 2 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," South Beach manager Wilson Alvarado said following the tough loss.
The Torch, now 2-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
