The Kennesaw Jets picked up a win at ACKC Youth Field, knocking off the Athletic Club KC U-24, 6-4. Starting pitcher Joshua Neal, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Kennesaw reliever Bradley Leeder was the winner. His record is now 10-1. Clancy Daly took the loss. Suhaila Zainuddin earned the save for Kennesaw, his 14th of the year.
Meester Gobbles-Rooster's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a changeup from Clancy Daly for a 2-run home run. It put Kennesaw in front, 6-4.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Neal told reporters after the game.
Kennesaw has an impressive 62-28 record.
