Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Richello Oliva, the Louisiana Dragoons defeated the Yellowknife Dragonblood, 7-2. Oliva was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Dragoons. Millard Smith earned the save, his 2nd. The Dragoons saw their record improve to 35-49.

Punto Fijo, Venezuela-born Hélio Capriati came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded and the Dragoons trailing 2-0, he hit a bases-clearing double to left to put Louisiana on top.
