The Rocky Mountain Vibes did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Niagara Falls Expos at Bellevue Field. Nobody did more than pitcher George Johnstone, who captured player of the game honors. Phil Soto was credited with the save for Rocky Mountain, his 5th of the season. The Expos, at 27-57, have lost 5 straight games.
Ken Paige had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Vibes. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Rocky Mountain trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Paige told the Rocky Mountain Citizen.
