Rommel Helps Yellowknife Cruise to 11-2 Win
|
The first-place Yellowknife Dragonblood picked up another win at The Dragon Den.
The Yellowknife Dragonblood beat the Louisiana Dragoons, 11-2, at The Dragon Den. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Loring Rommel, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Sergio Gallegos, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held the Dragoons to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 11 and walking 1.
Making an impact for the home team was Andre Fezzik. In the bottom of the sixth, the 22-year old right fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 4-2, Dragonblood.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Fezzik told the Yellowknife Chronicle.
Yellowknife is now 50-17, 7½ games up in the Silver A.
