Victory Pushes Bowties Record to 7-5
|
The Buckhead Bowties topped the Boston Patriots, 8-2, with third baseman Yu-zeng Si playing a big role. Si went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Bowties in the win. Ron Manning got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Yajirobei Otomo recorded his 1st save for Buckhead.
Si contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Buckhead in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Si took a changeup from Darby Marshall and stroked the single to left. His 17th hit of the season allowed the Bowties to leap in front, 2-1.
Si attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Patriots fall to 6-6 and continue their uneasy start to the 2035 season.
