Kennesaw No Match for Threepwood
|
It wasn't easy but the Niagara Falls Expos made it look that way.
Starter Billy Threepwood shut out the Kennesaw Jets despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Niagara Falls Expos cruised to victory, 2-0. Threepwood allowed only 1 hit and rang up 6 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
To date this year Threepwood has won 1 and lost 3 with a 5.36 ERA, no saves and 30 strikeouts in no relief appearances.
