The Syracuse Storm eked out a 4-3 win versus the Put-In-Bay BC at Storm Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Mark Toope, who captured player of the game honors. Syracuse, at 33-25, occupies 4th place in the Silver A.
The Storm got a lift from catcher Stu Taylor who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second inning off Jeff McDermott. It was his 9th walk of the season and put Syracuse in front, 1-0.
After the game, Syracuse manager Curtis Lee applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
