Chicago Tula starter Carlos Vargas pitched a strong game against the Louisiana Dragoons at Ramblers Ballpark, leading the Tula to a 4-3 win. Chicago reliever Dou-guan Shao picked up the win to move to 2-2. Edmond McCord suffered the loss. Even with the win, the Tula have a dismal 8-18 record.
Late in the game, second baseman Mario Ramírez had a big at-bat for Chicago. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Edmond McCord. The play gave the Tula a 4-3 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Tula manager Marcus Terry. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
