Jets Slip Past Put-In-Bay, 4-3

The Put-In-Bay BC got a superb performance from pitcher Darwin Watson, but the Kennesaw Jets still won the game, 4-3. Watson was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Kennesaw, now 13-6, has played well in the early going.
Had Preston Johnston not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Johnston hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Jets.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Put-In-Bay manager Frank Jackson.
