Hot Start Continues for Chiefs
|
The Syracuse Storm and Caldwell Chiefs brought some excitement to Storm Park.
The Caldwell Chiefs topped the Syracuse Storm by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Daniel Divina. Divina went 2 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Chiefs. Caldwell reliever Chang-hoon Park picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Víctor Rodríguez shouldered the loss.
With Caldwell trailing 4-2 in the top of the second, Divina hit a curveball from Víctor Rodríguez for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 5-4.
"We played hard and won," said Divina. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The Chiefs, now 13-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
