Jets Use Late-Game Magic to Beat U-24
|
The Kennesaw Jets faced a tough opponent in Athletic Club KC pitcher Chris Jordan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at ACKC Youth Field by a final score of 3-2. Jordan went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Bradley Leeder got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits in 8 innings. The save went to Suhaila Zainuddin, his 6th this season.
Alan Hubbard's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a changeup from Clancy Daly for a run-scoring double. It put Kennesaw in front, 3-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hubbard said.
Kennesaw is off to a hot start at 12-5.
