Storm Prevail, 5-4, Over Yellowknife
|
The Syracuse Storm turned back the Yellowknife Dragonblood, 5-4, at Storm Park. Sadakuno Hashimoto was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Aurelio Gonzáles picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Doug Lane was tagged with the loss. Frank Butler picked up the save, his 3rd.
The Storm got a big at-bat from left fielder Miguel Román. For the game, Román went 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Syracuse a 5-4 lead.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Hashimoto said.
Syracuse is now 6-5.
