Chiefs Take Down Dragonblood, 6-3
|
The Caldwell Chiefs picked up a win at The Dragon Den, knocking off the Yellowknife Dragonblood, 6-3. Starting pitcher Wendell Baldwin played a key role in the triumph. Baldwin got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 8.1 innings. Baldwin allowed 3 earned runs. James Callendar recorded the save for Caldwell, his 4th of the season.
Caldwell used the bat of Daniel Divina to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Baldwin.
The win lifts Caldwell to a record of 6-2.
