Late Rally by Jets Secures Win
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Jets Stadium, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2035 USSL Single A season. On the mound was Sam Johnston for the visiting Athletic Club KC U-24 and Joshua Neal for the hometown Kennesaw Jets. In a spirited contest, the Jets pulled out the win, defeating the U-24 by the score of 3-2. Earning player of the game honors was Sam Johnston.
Bill Richmond was the walk-off hero for Kennesaw. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Jets first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Feels good to get the job done," Richmond said after the game.
