Stingers Edge Rainbow Mermaids, 8-7

Fans who came to Pacesetter Park watched the Toledo Stingers and the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids fight to the finish.
A 5-RBI performance from the former first round draft pick Brett Callison helped the Toledo Stingers beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 8-7. Toledo reliever Nelle Liefting picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Keith Johnson was saddled with the loss.
Callison had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count cutter from Keith Johnson, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Stingers a 8-7 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Callison.
"We maximized our offense today," said Toledo skipper TJ Reynolds. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The win gives the Stingers a record of 3-0.
