Rainbow Mermaids Fall to Stingers, 8-6
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Dylan Carson, the Toledo Stingers defeated the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 8-6. Carson was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Stingers. Maxime Janssens got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Josef van der Poel earned his 1st save in 1 tries.

Carson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Toledo in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Carson took a fastball from António Alomar and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Stingers to leap in front, 5-3.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Carson.

With the loss, Northern Virginia drops to 0-2.
