Vandals Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Seahawks
Luis González was superb against Myrtle Beach. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 6-3 Vandals victory. Eugene reliever Jesús Colón was the winner. His record is now 2-3. Máximo Ruíz took the loss. Clyde Kittow closed the game out for Eugene, earning his 2nd save.

Brock Waxley hit a run-scoring double off Máximo Ruíz in the top of the eighth, which put the Vandals in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Waxley had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Waxley told a Eugene Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

Eugene is now 19-63, while Myrtle Beach is 48-34.
