River Rats Clip Reapers, 3-2
|
The Columbia River Rats dealt the Grim Reapers a 3-2 loss at Columbia Stadium. Tyler Marés was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Columbia reliever Gabriel Flowers picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Rafael Quiñones was collared with the loss. Columbia has now won 5 straight.
Marés had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Rafael Quiñones, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the River Rats a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Marés.
"We put together a nice win," Marés said.
