River Rats Get One-Run Win at Belleville
|
Columbia River Rats starter Jake Haynes turned in an exceptional performance against the Belleville Bulls at Belleville Field, resulting in a Columbia win, 3-2. Haynes picked up the win for Columbia, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. Hedi Charlet earned the save for Columbia, his 14th of the year.
Kieran Hansen, the four overall pick in the 2035 draft, aided the Columbia cause with a run-scoring strikeout in the top of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop did the little things right to help the team.
Afterward, River Rats manager Félix Cruz was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The River Rats own a robust 49-26 mark.
