Evergreens Win at Boston, 3-1
|
Portland Evergreens starter Giovanni Mireles turned in a top-notch performance against the Boston Patriots at Dunkin Donuts Park. The result was a win for the Evergreens, 3-1. Raúl Romero notched his 26th save in 34 chances. The Evergreens have an impressive 66-42 record.
The Evergreens got a big at-bat from catcher Calvin Wilms. For the game, Wilms was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 17th double of the season gave Portland a 3-1 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Mireles said after the game.
