Airmen Keep Streak Alive With 8-1 Win
|
The Alameda Airmen handed the Belleville Bulls a loss at Alameda Field. The final score was 8-1. Scot Adkins was named player of the game for Alameda. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Alameda reliever Kit Scheetz picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Lucho Pousa was collared with the loss. Belleville is in the throes of a 14-game skid.
Had Joshua Cadaval not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Cadaval hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-1, in favor of the Airmen.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Orlando Batista.
