Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Airmen
|
Alameda withstood an impressive performance by Highwood center fielder Scott Miles to defeat the Hawks, 4-3, at Alameda Field. Miles went 2-3 with a triple, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI. Reliever Aad Stuut picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Will Snell took the loss. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Highwood.
Scot Adkins was the walk-off hero for Alameda. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Airmen third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Adkins said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
