Caterpillars Solve Bulls, 4-2
|
Grand Forks Caterpillars starter Ezra Peterson turned in a top-notch performance against the Mt. Vernon Bulls at The Cocoon. The result was a win for the Caterpillars, 4-2. Albert Karlier picked up the save, his 5th. At 23-24, Grand Forks is in 7th place in the Menard's A.
Had Danny Bird not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bird hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-1, in favor of the Caterpillars.
Bird called the triumph "a good team win."
