Flamingos Bang Out 12-4 Win Versus Portland
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Shihei Kichikawa, the Las Vegas Flamingos defeated the Portland Evergreens, 12-4. Kichikawa was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Flamingos. Martín Valverde got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Isaaka Ienimea, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Kichikawa had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Flamingos went on to win.
"Nervous? No," said Kichikawa. "It was my time to shine."
The Flamingos now have a mark of 57-48.
