With center fielder Cornelius Adkison leading the charge, the Alameda Airmen defeated the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 6-3, at Alameda Field. Adkison, who leads the 3A in runs scored with 26, went 3 for 4 with 2 triples and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Alameda starter Yajirobei Matsumoto was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 6-0. Aad Stuut sewed up the save, his 3rd.

Adkison came through with some timely hitting for Alameda. With the score 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth and one down, Adkison hit a 1-2 changeup for a 2-run triple. His 8th triple of the season made it 4-2, Alameda.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Adkison.

Alameda is now 21-14, while Phoenix is 19-16.
