Kennedy Helps Myrtle Beach Cruise to 10-2 Win
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks topped the Grim Reapers, 10-2, with youngster Dan Kennedy playing a key role. Kennedy went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs for the Seahawks in the win. António García earned the save, his 2nd. Myrtle Beach now sits at 23-12, while Grim falls to 18-17.
Winter Haven, Florida-born Roberts Hamhock came through in the clutch. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded and the Seahawks trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Myrtle Beach on top.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Kennedy told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
