Eugene right fielder Takeshi Kovacs had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Alameda Airmen, 9-7. Coy Nice earned the save, his 2nd. After today's action, Eugene sits at 6-25, while Alameda falls to 19-12.

Early in the game, Kovacs had a 3-run home run for Eugene. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Vandals on top, 3-0.

Vandals manager Francisco Barrera wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
