Hotspur U-21 Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Phoenix Hotspur U-21 starter Derek Jones was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Columbia River Rats, 5-3. Jones, now 1-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 3 earned runs. Picking up the save was Sean Neely, his 2nd.
One of the key players for the Hotspur U-21 was third baseman Nathan Pruitt, who drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning. For the game, Pruitt went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Pruitt said.
Phoenix has now won 4 games in a row.
