It wasn't easy but the Alameda Airmen made it look that way.

Starter Yajirobei Matsumoto shut out the Mt. Vernon Bulls despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Alameda Airmen cruised to victory, 4-0. Matsumoto allowed only 1 hit and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

To date this year, Matsumoto shows a 4-0 record, 4 starts, 32 innings, 36 strikeouts and a 1.12 ERA.
