Bulls Come Back Late, Nip Hotspur U-21
Francisco Rivas never let the Hotspur U-21 get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Bulls to a 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Rivas, now 5-1. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The first-place Bulls have a one-game lead in their division.

In the top of the 8th, first baseman Bob Harris gave Mt. Vernon the lead when he hit a 2-run triple. The Bulls had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out triple off Phoenix pitcher Sean Neely changed that -- and Mt. Vernon went on to win.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Rivas said.
