Great Day for Carmona in Patriots Win
Manuel Carmona made an impact in the 8-6 Boston win over D.C.. Carmona, who is tied for 7th in the PL with a .308 batting average, was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The winner was Eric Matson, who threw 97 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits. Boston occupies 5th place in the Premier League at 56-47.

Carmona contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Boston in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Carmona took a changeup from Lorenzo Fabián and stroked the double to right. His 23rd double of the season allowed the Patriots to leap in front, 3-1.
