Juárez Rips Boston for 5 Hits
|
Gilberto Juárez put on a hitting clinic today as the New Orleans Voodoo dumped the Boston Patriots 10-1 at Dunkin Donuts Park.
The New Orleans catcher made Boston defenders earn their pay, lashing Boston pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Juárez said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Gilberto Juárez hit a solo-shot off Bradley Roth in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Doug Carlton in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
Juárez is hitting .306 this year with 21 home runs and 58 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .373, 37 walks and scored 70 times.
