Silver Sox Knock Off Ghosts at The Graveyard
|
Reno right-hander Jessie Young made an effective start against the Casper Ghosts at The Graveyard, leading his team to a 5-1 win. Young, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up no walks. Casper, at 46-52, has lost 4 straight.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with Reno trailing 1-0, Grady Harris was at the plate when Reno scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Silver Sox to go in front, 2-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Reno manager Emílio Sáenz. "It's usually not just one thing."
