The Reno Silver Sox easily defeated the Biloxi Shuckers, 15-4, at The Pizza Oven, with left fielder Gong Mao a main contributor to the win. He was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 for Reno. Jessie Young got the win, improving to 2-4. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Reno is now 51-39, Biloxi 36-54.
Spartak Gonjarov drew 1 walk in 6 plate appearances, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once against the Shuckers. In the top of the first inning, he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Reno in front, 1-0.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Mao told the Reno Citizen.
