Late Rally by Patriots Secures Win
|
New Orleans first baseman Guy Toussaint had a good game, even if his team did not. The Voodoo dropped a 8-7 decision to Boston at Dunkin Donuts Park. Toussaint was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Boston reliever Glenn Butler picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Mark Valle absorbed the loss. Boston has now won 6 games in a row.
Boston's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Jeff Simpson reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Simpson said. "We did a good job of that today."
