Flamingos Bridle Voodoo, 4-2

The Las Vegas Flamingos launched their 2035 campaign with a victory over the New Orleans Voodoo at The Strip. Las Vegas first baseman Baldomero Avino was instrumental in the 4-2 win. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Germán Rodríguez got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 8 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
The Flamingos got a lift from third baseman Sake van Arem who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth inning off Eddie Kop. It was his 1st RBI of the season and put Las Vegas in front, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Avino. "And not try to do too much."
