Silver Sox Come Up Short at Biloxi
Biloxi played host to Reno at the friendly confines of The Pizza Oven.

Modesto Barreiro left his imprint on the 8-7 Biloxi win against the Reno Silver Sox. Barreiro, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in bases on balls with 56, went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jason Sanders got the win, improving to 2-3. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3.

Barreiro contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Biloxi in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 5-4, Barreiro took a splitter from Jeff Merritt and stroked the home run to left. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Shuckers to leap in front, 6-5.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Reno manager Emílio Sáenz. "The effort was great."

Biloxi is now 35-53, Reno 50-38.
