Kentaro Kato pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Tacoma Fur Traders, despite Kato's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Biloxi Shuckers at Ballpark of Tacoma. Étienne Leclerc got the win, improving to 3-7. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Bernard Cook picked up the save, his 9th.
Biloxi right fielder Seb Blanch made his contribution to the Shuckers cause with a 2-run single in the top of the third inning. For the day, Blanch went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"We put together a nice win," Blanch said.
After today's action, Biloxi sits at 27-45, while Tacoma falls to 29-43.
